This page explains what information Shaiya Obsession collects when you use the website and game, and how we handle it.

What We Collect

• Registration data: account name and password (hashed) when you create an account.
• Optional contact data: email address, only if you provide one for account recovery.
• Game data: character names, levels, classes, factions, in-game actions and stats — everything required for the game to work.
• Connection data: IP address, login timestamps, and basic anti-cheat telemetry (running processes’ presence, no file contents).
• Chat logs: in-game chat is logged for moderation and rule enforcement.

What We Do NOT Collect

• We do not read files outside the game directory.
• We do not collect keystrokes, screen content, or webcam data.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or third-party trackers.

How We Use Your Data

• To run the game and website (login, character persistence, leaderboards).
• To enforce the Game Rules and prevent cheating.
• To respond to support requests you send us.
• To investigate abuse, exploits, or security incidents.

Cookies

The website uses a single PHP session cookie to keep you logged in. It is HTTPS-only, HttpOnly, and SameSite=Lax. We do not use third-party tracking cookies, analytics scripts, or advertising pixels.

Data Retention

Account and character data are kept for as long as the account is active. Inactive accounts may be archived after extended periods of no activity. Chat and connection logs are kept for a reasonable moderation window and then rotated out.

Your Rights

You can request deletion of your account at any time via the Contact page. We will remove identifying information; some game records (rankings, kill feed, hall of fame entries) may remain anonymized.

Security

Passwords are hashed before storage. The site is served over HTTPS with HSTS enabled. Despite our efforts, no system is 100% secure — please use a unique password and report any suspicious activity to us.
